Warm and friendly Turkish family needs a full time nanny for their baby. The baby is due in January 2021. The job will start in March or April 2021. You will be working 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 8.30 - 5.30pm. Flexibility is appreciated as this is their first baby so the hours may need adjusting.

Suitable candidates are calm, gentle, kind, open, have a high level of communication and keen to make a long term commitment.

It’s important you are knowledgeable about breastfeeding, baby sleep patterns/routines and can provide the parents with tips and recommendations on raising children. You need to have a supportive and team playing approach to nannying. Encouraging the baby to be independent is important to the parents. Candidates must have professional experience caring for a baby and knowledgeable about child development. You need to be confident in planning stimulating educational age appropriate activities. The family is looking for someone happy to guide and teach the parents while taking on board their suggestions and ideas. It's important you have childcare qualifications. 

Candidates need to have been living in Amsterdam for at least a year, familiar with children’s activities in the city, knowledgeable about Dutch culture and confident in navigating the city. 

The Mum is returning to work full time in April. She will definitely work from home at least one day per week. Depending on the Covid19 situation both parents might be working from home in the spare room.

This is a ​sole charge role. 

The family lives on the fifth floor in an apartment in Zuid. There is an elevator. 

The couple are very family oriented and having family time is very important to them. They have close relationships with their families who will come to visit during the year. 

The parents are happy to discuss the baby attending activities and classes with the nanny dependent on the Covid19 situation. They are keen for the baby’s days to include walks, singing, reading and playtime. 

Due to Covid19 the family would prefer you not to travel with the baby on public transport. 

It’s preferred if you don’t have to travel on public transport to get to work. They live an eight minute walk from the metro and have bus and tram connections very close by.

High levels of hygiene and being very tidy are important skills. 

Doing nursery duties, running errands and purchasing groceries when needed are part of the nanny duties. The family has a cleaner once a week. 

To apply candidates need a minimum of 5 - 10 years professional childcare experience. This must include sole charge nanny experience. Having childcare qualifications is also important. 

Turkish is spoken in the house. You will be responsible for working on the child’s English language skills. You must have a very high level of English. ​
