Nanny required for an artistic and independent seven year old. The nanny needs to be very active, fun and upbeat.

The start date is flexible, ideally between now and November but they will consider the beginning of January. Ideally the nanny will be available on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday but it is possible the days could be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It’s vital you are available on Wednesday’s. Every so often you will be required to proxy parent and potentially babysit on a Saturday. There is the opportunity for extra hours during the school holidays.

It’s an English and Spanish speaking household. The candidate needs to speak fluent English and ideally fluent Dutch. It’s a bonus if you also speak Spanish.

The role is sole charge. The Dad works in a studio from home and the Mum is currently working from home.

The seven year old has a big imagination, a sophisticated vocabulary and is happy spending time with adults or her friends. She eats a wide variety of food. Part of your responsibilities will be taking her to ballet classes on a Monday. You will also need to provide a variety of activities that don’t involve using screen time including puzzles, park trips, supervising homework, baking and organising activities and adventures during the school holidays. The family also has a garden. You need to be confident implementing routine and structure. A nanny who is keen to use explanations and talking about emotions when disciplining would be a good fit for this job.

The school is within walking distance. The school day ends at 2.55pm apart from a Wednesday when it finishes at 12.30. Part of your responsibilities will be collecting the child from school. You need to be happy doing some family assistant tasks including running errands, buying groceries, researching activities, preparing dinner for the whole family and helping maintain order in the house. Doing standard nursery duties, tidying the child’s bedroom and toys are also part of your responsibilities. The family has housekeepers once a week so you are not required to do heavy cleaning but you do need to clean up after yourself.

Candidates must use their initiative and have a proactive approach. It’s vital you don’t need micro managing so you must be confident and have previous nanny experience. Ideal candidates love the outdoors, have a warm approach to childcare and genuine interest in the child and being part of her life.

It’s a bonus if you are happy to travel with the family once a quarter.
