Part time nanny required working three days per week for a five year old little girl. The hours are Monday 12 - 6pm and Wednesday and Fridays from 11 - 6pm. She attends BSO on Tuesday and Thursdays. During the school holidays there will be the possibility of extra hours.
The five year old loves talking, singing, dancing and science experiments. She loves learning and playing with adults. She is social and creative.
It’s an English speaking household although the Dad speaks French and Spanish. The candidate needs to speak fluent English, it’s a bonus if you also speak Dutch.
This is a sole charge role. Both parents are working from the home office. Next year the Mum will be commuting to London for work on a regular basis.
On Monday your day will start at 12, as school finishes at 3pm you will have time to do groceries, run errands and meal prep depending on the families needs. On Wednesday and Friday you will have time to do any household/PA tasks when you arrive at 11am. Walking the puppy will be part of your duties. The family might need some help with the whole family's washing. The family has a weekly cleaner.
School finishes at 12 on Wednesday and Fridays those afternoons will be focused on the five year old. Going to the park, on adventures, doing crafts, imaginative play, playdates and potentially taking the five year old to a dance class. You need to be proactive about planning activities for the afternoons. Your focus will be to keep the child mentally and physically active.
School is a seven minute bakfiets ride from the house. It’s vital you can ride an electric Urban Arrow bakfiets.
The parents involve the child in what’s happening, are honest and encourage her to ask questions. Their approach to discipline involves explanations and engaging the child. The nanny needs to follow the same approach.
Suitable candidates will love children, plan and implement a wide range of activities, have a good sense of humour, is easy going and it’s a bonus if you enjoy cooking. Family tries to eat organic but isn’t strict. You need to be able to easily engage with children, be an excellent communicator and keen to be part of the family.
Ideally the nanny will be able to start on 4th January 2021 but the family can wait for the right candidate.
Candidates must be able to swim and cycle a bakfiets.
In general screen time needs to be avoided when the nanny is on duty.
It's a bonus if you have a background in Montessori.
The family are happy to get the nanny a parking permit.
The job is located a 12 minute walk from Haarlem station.
