American family have just relocated from Seattle to the Netherlands. When the family first arrives they will be staying in temporary accommodation while they arrange permanent housing. The days and hours will be as follows:
Monday and Tuesday: 14:00 - 18:00
Wednesday and Friday: 12:30 - 18:00
Thursday: 9:30 - 18:00 (the hours on a Thursday will decrease at some point to 14:00 - 18:00).
Household management duties will include preparing meals, grocery shopping, keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, doing dishes, laundry, organising electricians etc, helping with household admin tasks, vacuum and mopping if required. They will have a weekly cleaner so heavy cleaning is not required. This will be the family's first time living in the Netherlands so they are still confirming their exact needs. Once the family is settled the candidate needs to be able to anticipate the family's needs, have attention to detail and be confident using your initiative. Someone who is caring, safety cautious, is hygiene conscious and happy to help out where needed.
Your focus will be split between caring for the child and household duties. The parents will be around to care for the child when you are doing household duties. The five year old has a very fun, outgoing and bubbly personality. She loves reading, imaginary games, baking, loves art and science projects. She will be attending Dutch school full time and BSO.
Both parents will be working from home. They plan to drop and collect the five year old from school.
The parents have a nurturing parenting style, they are keen to find someone who values teaching children about emotions and natural consequences rather than punishments.
There will potentially be free parking available if required.
Previous long term experience with children isn't required nor is previous experience as a household manager although this would be preferred. The vital skills are you are organised, efficient, hard working and enthusiastic. Candidates with a background in hospitality or housekeeping would be a good fit. Someone who can support the family with their transition to the Netherlands.
